These terms and conditions govern your use of the Square Insure website and temporary car insurance services provided by Square Insure.
1. Definitions
- "We", "Us", "Our" refers to Square Insure
- "You", "Your" refers to the person using our services
- "Policy" refers to the temporary motor insurance contract
- "Certificate" refers to the insurance certificate issued upon purchase
2. Eligibility
To purchase temporary car insurance from us, you must:
- Be aged between 17 and 75 years old
- Hold a valid UK, EU, or international driving licence
- Have fewer than 10 penalty points on your licence
- Be a resident of the United Kingdom
- Not have any unspent motoring convictions
3. Quotes and Pricing
Quotes provided through our website are valid for 30 minutes from the time of calculation. Prices are calculated based on the information you provide, including driver age, vehicle details, cover duration, and driving history. Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the current rate of 12% is included in all quoted prices.
4. Policy Purchase and Payment
By completing a purchase, you enter into a contract of insurance. Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase. We accept major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider.
5. Cover Period
Your cover begins at the date and time specified in your policy document. Cover must start at least 30 minutes after purchase. Cover durations range from 1 hour to 30 days. Your cover ends automatically at the date and time stated on your certificate.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
Due to the short-term nature of our policies:
- Policies that have already started cannot be cancelled or refunded
- Policies that have not yet started may be cancelled for a full refund by contacting us before the cover start time
- We reserve the right to void a policy if the information provided is found to be inaccurate
7. Your Obligations
You must:
- Provide accurate and truthful information when obtaining a quote
- Ensure you are legally entitled to drive the vehicle
- Not use the vehicle for any unlawful purpose
- Report any claims or incidents promptly
- Carry your certificate of insurance (digitally or printed) when driving
8. Claims
In the event of an accident or claim, you must notify us as soon as possible. Full claims procedures are available on our claims page. Failure to report incidents promptly may affect your claim.
9. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the terms of your insurance policy. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from the use of our services, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
